The Jaffrey Civic Center is thrilled to announce an unusual group art exhibition, ‘Born of Silence,’ featuring paintings, sculptures, and mixed media art made by artists who meditate. The Cunningham Gallery in the Jaffrey Civic Center from August 9, 2025 to September 18, 2025. “Art is not born from noise or crowds but from silence.” Leonora Carrington

I’m honored that my painting, Cosmic Connections 🪐🎨, will be featured for public view alongside a diverse and eclectic collection. These artists come from all over the US, Canada and some from Europe. The artists will be present at the opening on August 9th to meet you and discuss their work.

Artist Statement

My whimsical, colorful paintings are inspired by the energy of our galaxy. I draw from sacred art, ancient symbols, and the things I love. I use big paint brushes to cover the canvas and build layers of vibrant oils in circular shapes also using palette knives, sponges and scrapers. I welcome you to this world of effervescent wonder and magical light.

Bio

Marla Sacks is a painter, author, and yogic guide whose creative process is rooted in meditative practice. Upon graduating with a business degree, she followed her passion and worked in sales in an art gallery. She currently paints in her studio in her New Jersey home. Her book, The Radiant Woman Shines, celebrates emotional release, feminine power, and joyful embodiment.
